Programme Description
The qualification in Information Technology equips students with the knowledge, understanding and skills required to succeed in current and future employment and for progression to higher studies. The course will cover information technology systems, information technology application, organizations, communications & networking, system analysis, software and database management. There are option units which may be chosen and include programming languages, structured design methods, operating systems and user interface, multimedia, desktop publishing and mathematics for information technology.
Entry Requirement :
SPM with 3 credits or its equivalent
Programme Outcomes:
Students will be able:
- to demonstrate creative thinking skills and sound knowledge in the field of IT;
- to demonstrate basic understanding on the principles of computing and computer technology;
- to demonstrate an understanding on technical competence in computing and IT discipline;
- to demonstrate a working knowledge on computer and programming skills;
- to demonstrate capability to communicate effectively;
- to work independently as well as with others in a team;
- to develop an individual desire for self-improvement through life-long learning.
